x-men, tampines1 & say cheeze cafe

Last Saturday
Was...
its like one of my top few favourite movies..
and my favourite among all movies by Marvel Comics.

The ending is sad...
but I really like the storyline of it. or rather the unexpected twist.. or.. err. i just like it.
(though certain parts seemed to exaggerate quite a bit and makes no sense. HEY. its an action movie afterall)
Actually, I wasnt the one who spotted those. Its how bf picked them out that I realised how very true he is..
I am those sort who just watch and enjoy the movie without trying thinking if its logical or not.
Nevertheless, he enjoyed that movie too.

Not going much into what this movie is all about,
but I urge you guys to catch it! Worth the money.
*
*
You can visit their original website to watch their trailers.
OH! Stay till the end of the whole credits. they've got a lil scene following that. im sure most of you should know because its not like the first time.
*
*
Anyway, I saw this really handsome guy in the show (Agent Zero) and he turns out to be ...
Daniel Henny 다니엘 헤니!!!I first spotted him in in My Lovely Sam Soon 내 이름은 김삼순
A very cute drama.

FYI, I do not really like korean drama.. because I find it all retarded.. & mostly teary/dying. but I quite like Lovely Sam Soon though. maybe the lovely cakes and all attracted me to it.. and its a pretty short one drama. Cheerful and not as retarded (their acting can be quite a BLEH because their actions are always big oh gosh. dont tell me about Taiwanese shows. I totally do not like it at all! and China shows too. goodness.

kept repeating a scene over and over again. its like, for an example:

a couple in love, for some reason they are not together, breakup or whatever. then at many scenes, they will pass by each other without knowing. because its either contractors (whoeve. just an example) carrying a huge painting walked in between them, or maybe the guy (viceversa) was bending down to pick up something and the girl (viceversa) will walk pass without noticing.

thats not all. they usually kept playing the scene over and over again, just in case you're blind not to notice whats going on. -___________-
**

anyway that Saturday,

we also wentfor the very first time!

for our dinner before the movie. (dinner was w bf & hex. movie was w bf, bf's cousin, bf's cousin's gf, bf's cousins's gf's friend though hex and the rest were watching the same movie at the same timing too.. only at diff seatings)
main purpose is to avoid the crowd but its still there!

ok. i know its a Saturday... like what am i talking about.
its a pretty fresh place with lotsa people!
and i love the fact that my favourite japanese bakery RIVE GAUCHE PATISSERIE is there!
WHEEEEE
anyway, here's a screenshot of their website.
*
*
and you know what? i just realised Tampines1 is under
& Century Square is also under ASIAMALL.
the other day bf and i (our 2nd visit yesterday, which I will blog about later) was like saying Century Square is beyond hope especially with the new Tampines1 up.
I think its quite a big difference btwn Century Square and Tampines1...
LiangCourt quite dull too.. but i love their supermarket and the hair salon Komachi.
White Sands? improved. and i feel there's still life to it.
Hougang Mall? i think it improved too. the other time i went during lunch time was pretty crowded D:
Century Square needs to have better lightings!!!
currently it gives me a *yawnyawn* feeling.
*
*
ok back to Tampine1 & our dinnerrrr
was kinda delighted to see this though i wasnt putting much hope into it. as in the food.
i suspected that it will somewhat be like Secret Recipes or CafeCartel.
personally, i find these two places totally not worth visiting!!!
except for Secret Recipes. for their cakes only. THE FOOD TOTALLY SUCKS.

their interior:
table layout (placed the menu by ourselves):
while me and bf was waiting for Hex (went to have his haircut)
we ordered:
which was Okkkkkkkkkkkk. nicest amoung the other food.
the minestrone. nothing wowing about. Okkkkkkkkkkkkk too. HAI.
our main course:
Hex's seafood pasta
FEEDBACK FEEDBACK?!?!?!

AND I SWEAR IT WAS UNINTENTIONAL!
he didnt pose for it. seriously.
Bf's tenderloin
sauce is watery.
cheese macaroni is fail.
shitake mushroom is ok.

bf said its presented so ugly-ly. LOL.

& mine?
the cafe called it the Chicken Cordon Bleu
& it's a total disappointment!!
you can check the photo provided in the menu
soooo different from mine. the chicken.
what kind of chef's recommended dish is this?!
dont tell me about the taste. its not as yummy as how the menu described it to be.

i chose the same side dish; cheese macaroni, which i must repeat that it suck.
and the asparagus & carrots.. is just blanched. i can do it. why they dont even bother adding a lil herbs to it?
i will only go back for the cheesecake.
atmosphere is ok.. though there are much better ones (of course much better cheesecakes) out there too.
might not even go back again since am leaving SG on the 9th June. would rather eat other yummy desserts!!! even cheesecakes!!!!

a page dated 28/04/20009 taken from my diary

with yuet ling, pearlyn, and bf.
ah no photos with them ): had this one and only photo because yuet ling was playing with my phone..
and ya. i did not buy the cable yet so.. couldnt upload the photos!!!! i took a photo of my photos in my hp using my camera.
i know the kitty might have amm. disfigured (is this the right word?) the photo.. but :P
ANYWAY
it's been a while since i last ate their 1/2 priced every Tuesday waffle!!! i must say its still good but was really sick of it after my second piece.
i used to be able to gobble the whole damn waffle. with extra cream and maple syrup!!!
but was really feeling bloated and airy from it and i left one last piece behind.
oh yes. was a good catchup session. shall meet up with the rest soon too yeah? :)
*
*
*
afterwhich, accompanied bf to have his stitches removed!
long wait but the procedure was fast.
he said just a teenyweeny slight pain. nothing much and definitely bearable.
*
*
oo. and went to get my Moshi Pouch in town!!! (review here)
(err. if you're an observant, you might notice a mole WHICH IS ACTUALLY NOT A MOLE on my face in the photo below. i scratched my own precious face few days back. *sniff* so ugly. i was complaining non stop to bf that if i had such an ugly mole, i will definitely remove it!! oh and during my gelare lunch with my darlings, i actually forgot about that mole. if not i would have complained about it too. x.x)
after getting the pouch, went to Isetan Supermarket at Shaw Towers!!!
I <3 JAPANESE SUPERMARKET!!!
but the one at Liang Court is much better. as in there's more stuff... even the char siew pork whch is the authentic ones to be used in ramen.... its found there! but not here (referring to Isetan's supermarket)

oh well. still love the japanese supermarket anyway.
ANYWAY, they have this lil food stalls because of Boy's Day.. and i bought two mini lil oyster from the stall selling croquette. SGD3. its really small but the oyster is meaty. so worth my money!
other photos taken using from my hp (but i retook it using my camera because of no cable. repeat repeat repeat)
*
*
and a POSED FOR photo.
haha cos while i was shooting the above (and others that i did not upload), bf suddenly had this look which i thought that i had captured it on my phone (BUT DIDNT) which is why i forced him to pose for that.
i know its retarded but we're having fun, can?
and a bf queueing to buy a can of beer :
*
*
ok. apart from that can of beer, we also bought our dinner!!!
SAPPORO MISO RAMEN!
we really missed it man.... but hokkaido seemed so. far & expensive.
so it gotta be on hold!!! so sad.
and we missed their miso ramen badly. PLEASE TRY IF YOU'RE GOING THERE!! PLEASE TRYYYYYYYY. ITS SOOOO DIFFERENT FROM SINGAPORE. and dont be turned off by the word miso cos its not like the miso soup that you've been drinking!!!

ok. we missed it so much that we bought whatever thats available at the supermarket. bought whatever thats MISO typed (ONLY TWO THOUGH. ARGH)

cook cook cook.
ITADAKIMASU!!! いただきます
nice bowl? bought from the Ramen museum at Yokohama
and are you guys wondering whats the orangey thing beside the bowl?
*
*
*
YAY ITS EBIKO! (xuan dont be jealous)
yuummmmm.
they do sell Karashi-mentaiko 辛子明太子 (marinated roe of pollock) which is supposingly for that!!
but bf prefers ebiko.

oh yes. apart from Ramen, its the King Salmon Sashimi!!!! for dinner.
nice.

total spent about $50 (including another packet of miso ramen for 2pax)

yummy dinner.
*
the after dinner was Sapporo Beer.
BURP.
a sumptuous dinner. but it makes me very happy!!!

saycheesecake

mining is sooo boring that i had to divert my attention to blogging and reading stuff online.
thus the multiple entries on the same day :P

i cant be like scrumpy who will sit beside bf and watch him surf the net, go for raids, etc...
scrumpy can even tolerate bf for squashing his head D:*
*
fortunately i managed to find something to talk about.. my favourite topic.
FOOD.

bf's cousin came over today w his gf and gave us a piece of cheesecake :) thanks!
though its not their main purpose
of course...
but ah. as long as i get the cheesecake :D

cheesecake was from
very yummy.

the design of box is unique too... very pretty.
the RAMBUTAN Cheesecake!!
frankly,
i have never like the fruit.
i dont know why. ok more like not dont like... but wont eat.
because i think that the fruit is dirty ^$^%$?! (what kind of concept is this right?)
because of the shell.. like its not washed and before eating we must tear it apart.
and spitting of the seed is an hassle too!
i know.. after splitting the shell apart, people usually do not use their hands to remove the fruit from the shell to eat. but they usually eat from the shell. but still, hai. weird thinking of mine, cant change. at least not for now.
anyway, back to the cheesecake.
i love it!
very refreshing.... and i love the soft cookie base.
it isnt too.. filling. the rambutan balanced the creaminess of the cheesecake very well.
WILL HOPE TO VISIT THE CAFE ONE DAY!!!
its at Great World City though. which is soo out of the way. hai.
but anyway, i think its worth to buy. very cool flavour right? our asian flavour.
maybe, just maybe... i might change my thinking of eating Rambutan? heee.
ta-dah. gotta sleep. tomorrow is the Gelare Tuesday!!!

side note (GETTING TO KNOW ME!! if you're interested) --->
for fruits, i only like berries.. like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries. oh yes kiwis too. and lemon :P i do like mangoes too actually. but berries is still the way to go!!! do eat the rest.. but dont really fancy as much :P

FRIDAY & SATURDAY.

ah. yes, i am very in love with my pet, Scrumpy.
shall post another photo of it despite the complain from Quek... cos Scrumpy is just too irresistible! :P

just came back from CyberDome from playing L4D...
i must say that i am really very tired but am reluctant to sleep.. yet.
*
wanted to blog about dinner which i had just this evening at Paradise on Earth (200tanjongkatong) to celebrate one of my gfs, Nicole's 22nd birthday (oh god we're so old x___x)
but.. the lady from the shop has shaky hands!!!!

hai. so sad.
i just refused to have the flash on... cos usually people look ugly w flashes :P
so... gotta wait for photos from Plyn & Cassie's camera!!
*
definitely a good catch-up session... and i will definitely miss my girls :(
really cant wait for me to stop working!!!!!!! then i will have more timeeeeee.
*
ok.. since im bored and ive got nothing to do.
shall talk about my dinner on friday night at Chinese Swimming Club.
no, not because they've got fantastic food... its just that Bryan had to use up this $10 monthly dining credit that he had to pay for from his membership.

i heard from somewhere that Chinese Swimming Club is supposedly by members' votes that it' exclusively for chinese only... hmm. wonder if its true?
but anyway, they did a whole revamp of the place.. looks so much better than my first visit few years back.....
*
ok, a photo of the cafe, Manzhu Cafe (at the newer clubhouse):
Chinese Swimming Club is apparently split into two areas which I wonder why.
they've got the newer and the older one. from what i can see, the newer one is obviously more popular.

the hot bun which the nice waitress gave us:
his dad always give ang bao to her during CNY.... but well, i can say her service is pretty good.

my dinner:
argh. salmon is dry! i miss the hog's breath one.. :(
and the pale yellow thing is not mashed potatoes! i actually chose the food from the "wt watcher" section.......... so its cornmeal! a pretty interesting idea... hmmm. but needs improvement on the taste!

boyly ordered some springchix and had to wait for 30mins...
so when his food arrived, he soooo wanted to just sink his teeth into the juicy meat.
but well,
i still forced him to pose a photo for me... and obviously he weren't coorperating (hee. ok its my bad shaky hands :S)
improving.... but still not acceptable.
:S
poor thing :P
after our meal, we had our dessert.
hai. he's giving me stress by ordering a bowl of cheng tng.
because.
i
ordered
a
hot
brownie
with
ice-cream.
mine is like sooo much more sinful than his, lah!
but i must say the brownie is superb. think the nicest food that ive eaten so far in ManZhu Cafe........
its nicer than the SkyDining's!!
i wont say as compared to NYDC, blablabla.
but i think the standard is almost there! slightly too compact but still, brownies are great hot!
HAI.
why do i like all this and he's soooo not into such? oh man.
quite stressful.
he doesnt like whipped cream, creamy soup, blablabla. but i do!
my mum doesnt, too!!!! and she's so skinny can?
oh man. time to change my preference. possible? :

:(
